The lab was awarded an NIH NIGMS R35 MIRA Grant. This funding will support our work for the next 5 years to uncover the regulation of innate immunity.
June 20th 2024.
Dr. Taabazuing is awarded the Black in Cancer Young Investigator Award. Research funds are provided by the Emerald Foundation to fund our work on developing new cancer immunotherapies.
Congrats to the winners of the postdoc awards, Drs. Whitney Henry and Mike Oliphant. Huge thank you to the Black in Cancer organization and movement and to Dr. James Mahaffey of the Emerald Foundation for selecting our proposal!
We hosted Dr. Freeman Hrabowski III for the second annual Juneteenth Lecture. Dr. Hrabowski delivered an inspiring message about cultivating inclusive excellence to a crowd of ~675.

Dr. Taabazuing won the prestigious 2021 Tri-Institutional (Tri-I) Breakout Award for Junior Investigators. He gave a seminar at the 2021 commencement and reflected on his journey in science.
